Casa Naila welcomes you to your luxury home in the heart of “La Verde Antequera”, where your stay within the historic center will be an experience unlike any other.

Located just five blocks from the iconic Church of Santo Domingo, Casa Naila sits in the midst of Oaxaca’s most famed history and architecture such as the Macedonio Alcalá Theater, the Zócalo, the Alameda and Government Palace, which have earned the city a World Heritage Site designation.       

This boutique hotel came to life within the walls of a restored 18th century home. The large colonial homes of the time were characterized by their central courtyard surrounded by functional spaces and lined by green stone columns, a material that reflected the city’s nickname. Our vision was built over these classical features, transforming this home into a space where tradition becomes modern luxury, elegance, comfort, and functionality.                                    

The modernity is apparent in the design and overall aesthetic of the home, but the tradition can be found in the materials. Oaxaca’s highest quality materials were used to cover the walls, outfit the floors, and finish the ceilings, all while respecting the home’s existing architecture. These strong bones were then elevated by tradition: patterns typical to Zapotecan culture and touches of barro negro (black clay) from San Bartolo Coyotepec in the central courtyard, mosaic tiles designed by the master Toledo, hand-woven rugs from Teotitlán del Valle, chairs from San Antonio “El Alto”, palm baskets from Tlacolula, Alebrijes from San Martín Tilcajete and Arrazola, and paintings from Oaxacan artist Manuel Miguel that accentuate walls throughout the hotel.                                                                                                                               

Casa Naila has one foot in the past, one in the present, and perhaps another in the future.
